Am I blowing up?

My family and I had a great Easter Weekend. My mother came out on Easter along with my brother and his family and spent Easter with me and the kiddos. Dan had to go to work :( However he was able to spend the morning with us. I made a great weight watcher breakfast casserole. Well one regular for him and the kids, and one healthy one for me and my mom. I am trying my best to stay eating healthy. I just feel like I am doing something wrong. I started out weighing 178 which I have weighed for the last 2+ years, and now since I have been pregnant I am at 196.7 today. That amount of weight gain is crazy. I have never in my life gained that much weight in 4 weeks. I even was gaining weight before I found out I was pregnant and was still smoking at the time. I don't know if it is water retention or not but it is kind of depressing.

I did however have Dan hold up my bb's while I weighed and it said I was 11 pounds less....(TMI) I know but I think that is kind of funny. :) I still can fit into my size 10 jeans but they are starting to get tight... so I am usually wearing my size 12's now. I need to find some shirts that don't make me look fat. Most of my shirts are starting to get tight and I want some thing to wear that will covering my belly without making me look like a cow. I really would rather not buy new jeans and just get a band or some type of thing that will let me do that. All the weight has gone to either my bb's or the tummy area.

I am trying to push more water so I won't retain as much but either that is not working or I don't know what the heck is going on. It is frustrating to see me blowing up. I am going to get a pregnancy workout video this next week but I really don't want to over do it either. Trying to keep my heart rate at 140 and under while exercising is hard for me even when I am working out on a regular basis. But I am going to try and get into a H20 aerobics class starting in May, and I hope that will help keep me in shape. Maybe I am over-reacting. I hope that I will stay this weight for awhile and not gain as much in my 2nd and 3rd trimester. Which is what I am hoping for. I guess as long as I am eating right and exercising that is all I can really do at this point, my body is going to do what my body is going to do.

Well I need to go and give my neighbor some stuff that is in our garage so I will try and update soon. I have my next appt on April 16th and hopefully we will hear the heartbeat through the doppler. I still need to post the ultrasound pics up. I know been busy the last couple of days. Have a happy week all.

I am so glad you stopped by my blog!! I cannot believe how similar we are. Starting weight, pants size, pregnancy time. This is awesome. You sound pretty darn healthy to me. Some ladies told me they gained almost all their weight in their 1st trimester and then not much more. Maybe that is how this one will be for you. I ordered a prego weight training dvd last week too.

I also bought some flowy shirts at Kohls this weekend by apt.9. They hide my flabby belly well.

Oh Sweetie,

I had a wonderful Easter with you and the kids. I know you are concerned about the weight gain, but remember you are in the midst of a miracle. Plus you quit smoking, that is bound to make you gain, even if your weren't preggers.

love you much

Mom

It is called Fit for Pregnancy. Should be delivered sometime this week.
