Just a few gifts, started opening some and then more people showed up, so some more are on the other side of the chair with the umbrella my mom and friends set up for me to sit while I opened up the gifts (ha ha), but my friend who was taking the pictures for some reason did not get them. I guess that is what happens when you have a come and go shower. I am missing quite a few pics of other people who came. Guess she was focused on a certain group. But very thankful she took pictures PERIOD! Otherwise I would not have very many at all.
My friend Katie who I have known since high school and is one of my besties AKA photographer with my camera:P
Me and my dear friend and neighbor Ashley. She made awesome fruit kabobs and yummy green Hawaiian salad.
The girl in the middle is Angelene, the shower was at her house and she works with my mom, but is like a 2nd sister to me. The lady next to her is her mom who made amazing chocolate sheet cake, rice to go with the Hawaiian meatballs and yummy slushies.
From left to right. My cousin Jade who flew in from Utah, myself, DH on the floors, cousin Bronson who also flew in from Utah (no boys allowed this is when the shower was over and everyone was doing clean up) sitting next to me, holding my youngest dauther Tatum, my son Carson on the floor, and finally my brother and his fiancee'

Where to start hmmm...... well I had my baby shower this last Saturday and it was very successful. Now I just need to wash clothes and finish up last minute things like getting bottles, burp clothes, a CRIB mattress ha ha ha I will need one of those, and a few other needed things. The girls were able to go to the shower. They were excited but really didn't quite understand what a baby shower was. My DH got the girls up early that Sat to help get them ready and they wanted to come into my room wake me up and hop in the actual shower with me. They didn't get it until we got to the actual baby shower event. Part of me thinks they thought they were going to take a shower with a whole bunch of girls. HA HA!! Sometimes I wonder what goes through their little heads. But now they ask if they can go to the baby shower again because they got to open baby Z's present for him.
I haven't made it to the store to spend some of the gift cards and money we received because DH had to work on Sunday and Saturday after the baby shower we spent with the family that had came into town to visit. Needless to say by Saturday night I was very tired and very very swollen. I think my family and I shopped for about 8 hours on Friday. My legs hurt so bad and were swollen for 2 days after that. Thank goodness the swelling has gone down. I haven't done much with the nursery either. It is in the same state it was when I last posted. We wanted to put up crown moulding and that has turned into a bigger project then expected. YUCK. We are thinking of not doing it now. But we will see. Still gonna change out baseboards (hopefully that won't take too long). Then I just need to get the darn mattress and decorations for the room and hopefully it will be done. I am having each one of my kids paint Z a picture. Then I am going to frame it. My neighbor and I are suppose to make 2 small quilts for baby Z and she also wants to help me do some cute burp clothes but we will see how much time I have.
I got the swing I really really wanted and I set it up in my living room. Setting things up around my house has it finally starting to kick in that I am going to have a baby. The swing plays "twinkle twinkle little star" which my girls love it sing to Z. It was so cute when I showed them that it played that song they started to sing with the music and it was so beautiful.
This whole pregnancy thing has just flabbergasted me. We have waited so long for this to happen (7 yrs) that it is still hard for me to accept that it is truly happening for us.
I am going to a 3d ultrasound on Saturday, (b-day gift to myself) and they will put music on the video for me if I want. So while I was looking for music I found this Celine Dion song "A New Day Has Come" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Ev4J2Y_zw&feature=related
(Check it out)
What a great song. Totally sums up how I feel. This is truly such a miracle for us and we are so grateful. I don't think I can make it through the first sentence of the song and not want to cry. Pregnancy hormones? I don't know. But it really hits home. So I think I have found at least one song I would like to put on the video. Plus Celine Dion wrote this song for her son after struggling with infertility. Hits the nail right on the head don't ya think.
My birthday is this Sunday. My brother and his fiancee' offered to take me for a pedi and offered to watch the kids so me and DH could have a night out on the town. I just don't know if we will be able to do it because they wanted to do it on Saturday and I am getting the 3d ultrasound done on that day. But we will see. DH tried to take the day off on Sunday but I told him to save the day for a day we have something planned. Like towards the end of this pregnancy when I will be barely able to walk or chase after my 4 kiddos.
Javi started school this Monday. Yay for him. He was totally excited he could barely get to sleep Sunday night. CUTE!! I did the same thing when I was little. Well until I hit High school that is. Javi has a lot of his friends in his class. The 2 boys that Javi really competed with last year are in his class this year too. I am excited for that because it keeps Javi striving to do his best and it is healthy competition not overly done. I think that competition is what got Javi to get 3rd in AR reading from k-3rd at his school and one of the top kids in his class for math facts. Yep that is my boy!!! All his grades combined together was a 98% so he was able to be on principles honor roll. I was/am so proud. Who cares if he was only in 1st grade. The kid is freak'n smart. Carson is so excited to start preschool and I don't think it can come fast enough for me either. Ha ha ha. Carson goes Tues and Thurs for only 2 and a half hours but it gets him out there and he is making other friends. So for those 2 days a week it will be girl time for me and my girls. Well until baby Z comes then it won't just be the girls. The girls were helping me go through some of Z's clothes yesterday and Livi ( my oldest daughter) kept saying "Oh I think this will be cute on Zander" or "Oh mom I like this". She is so excited about her new brother even if she can't stand the 2 she already has at times. But she does love them. I will post up the 3d shots I get on Saturday. I am hoping that they will be good. Enjoy the pics!
