Finally..... 8.9 pounds and 21 inches..... Zander finally makes his entrance

NOTE: Warning! This was written on little sleep. Lots of errors. Please forgive me.

Have been a little busy lately. Zander was born Oct 20th 2010 @ 3:28am. He now shares a birthday with my youngest daughter Tatum. So not only did he take Tatum's baby spot. But now she has to share her birthday with him. Good thing she is pretty easy going. Well right now anyways. We went into the hospital Tuesday at 2am because I was having extreme back labor and was vomiting red stuff. I don't think that it was blood but I had not eaten anything that was red. So we called the doctor and they said to go in. Needless to say they sent me home at 5:30am that same day. They said that the contractions were close enough they just needed to be stronger. Are you freaking kidding me. I never really did have front contractions just the damn back labor, and if I did get front labor my back pain was over taking the front pain. The back pain was so strong my birthing ball, a heating pad, a warm bath, or my husband rubbing my back didn't help. I was in tears the back pain hurt so bad and I really didn't have front contractions as often as they would have liked. But we went back into the hospital at 10:30 and I went from 80% effaced to 100% and dilated a little more... not much more but more. I hadn't slept in over 24 hours and had not eaten anything since 2am on the 19th. The Dr decided to keep me because I couldn't take the pain and could not sleep.

17 hours later Zander made his appearance. He weighed 8.9 lbs and was 21 inches long. Not too bad for being 38 weeks. He was so perfect. But I was so tired from pushing for 2 hours I was really kind of out of it. When it was time to push the epidural was not really working anymore, not fun. But we made it through. We were really trying to have Zander make his entrance on the 19th instead of the 20th but what could I do. It took me 3 hours to dilate from a 9.75 to a 10. SERIOUSLY!!! It took me only a stinking hour or so to go from 6 to a 9.75. My oh my. All I really remember after I delivered him is them taking Zander, cleaning him off, and trying to get him to cry. His cry sounded like a squeaky toy. I was in more pain after I delivered him then I was with the contractions. They gave me something in the epidural catheter and on top of that Demerol. I guess they gave me too much because they had to give me oxygen because I was d stating.

Once I got to my new room I fell asleep for about 3 hours (according to my husband). My time perception was off. They had to take Zander to the nursery because his sugars fell and they could not get them back up. The nursery tried to get them raised but then they had to transfer him to special nursery to get a iv to get his sugars up.

It worked like it was suppose to and he was out of the special nursery @ 1:30am the next day. We were discharged on Friday but to our dismay Zander had to end up staying an extra day after I was discharged because he had jaundice. I was really really upset. Thinking hell he was in the nursery long enough and you guys couldn't of figured that out when he was in there? My heavens. But he made it home Saturday and he has been well since. He is still a little jaundiced but the Dr is not worried about it. He eats like a champ... so now maybe these pounds will fall off since he is eating so much.

When I came home from the hospital one of the first things I did was weigh myself. Thinking I should have dropped something after pushing out a 8 pound baby and then some. But my legs and feet were really really swollen as you can see in the picture above. I got on and I didn't lose a stinking pound. However I can say I have dropped 20lbs a week later and yes I know, I still have some more weight to lose. I gained about 60lbs with this pregnancy. I am going to wait until my 6 weeks to make sure I can get on the elliptical again and of coarse weight watchers will be in my near future. Taking the opportunity to eat what I want for the first week or two since I have been so limited on food the last 2 months or so.

The kids have done well with Z and they really enjoy him. Livi is super protective of him. Even Carson is gentle. SURPRISE SURPRISE! Tatum likes him but not much once daddy is holding him since she is daddy's little girl. Javi is always a helper but
I think he is still adjusting. Breastfeeding has been fine. I was worried about that since they had to give him the bottle in the nursery. But I started pumping and told them to stop giving him formula and just use my milk and we have never had a problem since we have had him at home. Thank goodness.

Zander is a good baby. He sleeps a lot, just not when I want him too. ha ha ha..... But all my babies were good sleepers. Zander and I haven't left the house since we got home from the hospital, so it will be a big change when we go to a trunk or treat this Saturday night and then trick or treating and a bonfire on Sunday night. Still don't want to be around a lot of people right now.... so we will see how it goes. DH is still off work. He might go back to work on the 7th or he might wait until the 14th. It has been such a blessing having him off this long. I don't know when this will happen again. So I am taking advantage of spending time with him. He really is a good husband I couldn't ask for a better one. Seriously. Well with a busy day ahead I better get to sleep. Hope you enjoy my pictures :)

38 weeks... but I want to be done.

I am scheduled for my induction for the 25th which is a Monday @ 9am, if I haven't gone yet myself. My Dr said that I would be high on the induction list because of my health problems. So I am hoping that all will be okay and there won't be any emergency deliveries that day. Blood pressure has gone down was about 138/90 not bad at all considering what it was at. Protein was down to 252.... I think they thought it would have been over 300. But it wasn't shockingly. I was 3cm and 80% effaced when I went on Friday. Thought I would be further. But not to shabby considering my butt is in bed constantly. Had severe back labor Friday night and Saturday, I was in tears. It was not fun. It would last hours not seconds. Nothing helped.... yoga ball, heating pad, shower... NOTHING and still no baby. Finally I sat completely up on my couch and was able to get some rest.

I have to go back to the Dr's at least 2 more times before the 25th. Being at my Dr's office 3 times a week gets pretty old pretty darn quickly. LOL Nothing else really going on. I did go to Walmart Saturday to walk around a little bit, to get rid on some of the back pain and to get Tatum birthday gifts. Her birthday is on Wednesday, and she is so excited about it. She keeps telling people that her birthday is coming. Ha ha ha. We were there for about 30 minutes or so and then I started swelling up. At least I was able to get out of the house and doing something productive. I hate bed rest. But I wasn't there long and it helped the back pain for all of maybe an hour after. Came home and ate some Chipotle. YUMMY!! I can still have the chicken salad. That is delicious and low in carbs.

I am so done with this gestational diabetes crap!! I am going to probably indulge myself in whatever I want for the first week after I have baby Z but then back on Weight Watchers... which I love. I told DH that I wanted a huge bag of Milk duds, reeses, and heath bars next to my side after I push out baby Z. ha ha ha I am hoping that the weight will just fall off (after I eat all that candy) LOL. My Dr says I can do Weight watchers as soon as I want. I have gained about 60lbs I would like to be back in my jeans after Xmas at least my size 12 if not my size 10's. But no pressure. SERIOUSLY!! I was told that a lot of weight will be water weight because of the preeclamsia and the whole retaining water thing. Lets hope... right. I read in one article that one lady lost 30lbs in just water weight. HOLY CRAP!! That was even after the weight she lost after delivering. I gained a freaking 7 pounds in 4 days so maybe I could lose that much in 4 days after I have Zander. I hope I can loose it as fast as I gained it.

I never did get to go to the breastfeeding class that I wanted to go to. :( But I am sure I will be fine. At least I hope so. Only good thoughts on that. There are so many things that I would like to do after I have the baby. There are actually some good movies I would like to see. I am not a big movie goer by any means. But I would like to see a few new ones out. The town, The Hearafter, and Conviction. But once Z makes his appearance the holidays will be here, Javi starts football 2 days before my induction date and then Carson will be in football in January. Carson is so excited about playing football by the way. He was shocked when I told him I signed him up.

I am so excited to meet my baby. Can't believe he will be here soon. Not looking forward to the long nights. But I am not getting that much sleep now and I am so uncomfortable. Here's to hoping that he will come soon :)

The end of 36 weeks and Z's nursery

Well I was about done with Z's nursery until I was put on bed rest on Tuesday because I had really high blood pressure. 158/102 OUCH! My Dr sent me to the hospital thinking that he was going to have to deliver me but I ended up being okay. However they put me on strict bed rest until I have Z. I gained 7 pounds in 4 days which was a double ouch. I haven't gained that much in a while. Plus I haven't gained anything in over a month minus last week which was a gain of a pound and a half. My mom came out Wed and Thurs to help with the kids. DH took off Tuesday to help settle me in. He also is off as of Friday until around Nov 4th~!! YIPPY! I just wish I wasn't on bed rest. There is so much that we could get done tag teaming it. lol!! Thank the lord my mom was able to come and help otherwise I would have been in trouble. Even if my kids stressed her out to the max. She is suppose to come again this week but we will see. She might change her mind.

We have the hospital bag packed. We just happened to have it packed Monday night, so on Tuesday when the Dr sent me to the hospital, Dan was ready with the bag. The only other thing we need now is just a new robe and slippers for myself. I really don't want to wear my really nice one DH got me.... I don't want it to get ruined. Otherwise everything is ready in the bag. There are a few things I wish I could do before Z is born like make a wall shelf, put up a hat rack (which DH might go get tomorrow) and order this shark thing... but that might have to wait. Just have to make sure things stay nice and clean. DH really deep cleaned last weekend and did that so we just had to dust, vacuum and do daily cleaning stuff before Z gets here.

Everyone thinks that I am not going to last another week, but we will see. Finished Livi's tutu for Halloween. She is going to be a witch. I will be working on Tatum's this week. I have to take back some tulle because stupid Hobby Lobby over charged me AGAIN.... A Holes. All the fall/Halloween stuff is up around the house. Has been now for a few weeks. DH just has to put his up outside which he worked on today. He had to over-seed the yard and worked on getting his stuff put up today. It should also be done tomorrow. He is trying to get everything done this weekend so he can rest the rest of the week and we can enjoy our last few days together. tomorrow will be the first time in awhile that DH get to sit down and watch a Card's game together. That is exciting for me, and I think he is pretty excited about it too.

DH also went garage sale hopping today and found me a pretty nice elliptical for 20.00. He was so excited about what a great deal it was he could hardly contain himself. That made me feel good. Even if I can't use it for a few months. At least I have something to look forward to....well that and holding my new son. Got a few other things done last week... just not enough to satisfy me. But I don't know if I would ever be satisfied at this point. I am constantly giving myself new projects.

My oldest Javi got principle's honor roll again. So proud of him. He is so stinking smart. I didn't get to go to his assembly but DH and my mom went. I was there in spirit. DH took pics :) I go back into the Dr's again Monday for a Ultrasound and a NST. Originally it was suppose to be just a U/S but now because of the high BP they want me there more often and doing more tests. I do know that I am 2 cms and 70 percent effaced. So it will be interesting to see if I have progressed even more in a few days.

Above are the pictures of Z's nursery almost done. Of coarse like I said I still need to add a few things but I am okay with it. The pictures above the changing table will be of each one of my kiddos with baby Z. I was thinking of putting reserved for Zander and so and so for each child but thought that might be a waste since he will be gere soon. Also a picture of me today. End of my 36 weeks as of tomorrow. ENJOY

34 and counting!!

Well I went to the Dr's last week for my first NST and everything was great. Z was kicking like a mad man and his heart rate was great. Lost another 3 pounds....SHOCKING!! So close to having Z's nursery done and can smell it. Put up a few things on the wall and finally got the green rug. Still need to start on the girl's costumes and order the last minute things for Z. I did however get half of my kid's Christmas shopping done!! Bling!! I feel that I will have most of the stuff done this weekend. Hubby got another days off. He is also taking weeks off after I have the baby and then some more time at Christmas time.

I am already thinking were I want to go after I have this baby.... Disney?? Well see. But what I can't wait for is to eat what I want and when I want. I still can't have my rockstars :( but that is not that big of a deal to me. Who knows once I can have what I want it may not even strike my interest. Like I have said before usually I am not a sweets person. Been getting some Braxton Hicks contractions. Every time I pee contraction. It doesn't usually hurt unless I am getting up in the middle of the night and the pain really hurts.

Finally figured out what we need to do for a pediatric hematologist after Z is born just in case he has hemophilia. Finally!! Man I just hope Z is not + for hemophilia. Keeping good thoughts. I know my nephews hate it. Especially because my oldest nephew likes to play sports but he can't. Going back to the Dr's this morning to get our 6th ultrasound for Z, then we have another nst. My mom is going to watch the kiddos for us so Dan can go. Hopefully they do 3d tomorrow that would be pretty awesome. Wondering if I have gained back what I lost last week. Will be interesting to see. My sugars have not been very good at all either this week so I am going to assume that they might put me on medicine but we will see. Maybe it is not that bad. My blood pressure is great... .low actually. My swelling has been pretty good too.

Well my appt is early and that means I need to be up early. Here are some recent pictures of me. 33 (black shirt) and 34 week (white shirt) pregnant. ENJOY :)

33 weeks!

I am almost done. Maybe another 6 weeks tops!! Yes they have decided to induce me because I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and yes that has been a beast. I am usually not a sweet candy, chocolate, fudge eating person. That is my husband. I think that I only crave these things is because I am pregnant with Mr. Sweettooth's kid. ha ha ha. Seriously though it stinks. The one time I actually want sweets I can't have them. I have dropped about 6 pounds since I found out though. Mind you I do still have chocolate from time to time I just have one or two Hershey kisses, the dark chocolate kind, and when I get a really bad craving for sweets I have some sugar free jello with whip cream. Doesn't sound like much but hey if I keep losing the weight I won't have to lose that much after Baby Z is born. Dh and I went to the child birthing class last Saturday. We go to he second part of the class this weekend and this time they will give us a tour of the hospital and I think we will be working on our breathing a little more. The following week we will be attending a breastfeeding class. Then I am good. HOPEFULLY!! I have to go to the doctor's weekly now. Have been for the last 2 weeks. Stinks because the P.A I really like has been gone. Don't get me wrong I really like my Dr I just like the P.A more and she is out of the country doing some mountain biking thing.

Things are looking up with Z's nursery. I am almost done. Put in new baseboards, finished painting, rearranged the furniture and found somethings I am going to be putting on the wall with DH this weekend. Ordered a really cute rug for Z's room and then I have a few other things I would like to do such as find more things to put on the walls in his room.

Still trying to decided if I need a bassinet or if I should breakdown and get a new play yard. I have a play yard just doesn't have the newborn sleeper thing. My kids lost the metal bars to it UGH!!! I have to go to the Dr's again tomorrow. I have my first non-stress test to make sure Z is okay. I am measuring right on, or at least I was last week... 32 weeks. I was 32 weeks and 4 days. The problem with GD is big babies and right now he measuring fine so that is good news. I hopefully won't have to push out a huge baby. Next week I am scheduled for a ultrasound, so we can see Z. I hope they do some 3d video. I think that this ultrasound will make u/s #6. They will do a few more even after that one. We will have tons of pictures for his scrapbook.

Javi, Carson, and DH went to a school function yesterday called daddy and donuts for a book fair. Javi was running fell and split his eyebrow open after they ate their donuts and picked out books. He had to go to U.C because he needed stitches. He ended up getting 5 stitches. Not fun, and of coarse he had school pictures today. ha ha ha. He is so cute it doesn't even matter and will be a great story later on when he gets older.

Picked up a few things for Christmas. Got Carson a dsi bundle on sale, Javi a Hi Tide (it is the original ripstik) for $60.00 off the original price and this weekend I am going to pickup the girls gift from santa which will be a fisher price ixl. Now all the kids will have their own video game systems and they will stop fighting over mine and Javi's dss'. The reason I like the ixl for the girls is because it has tons of things to do beside just playing games. It is a e-reader (which my daughter Livi will love) and coloring book (which my daughter Tatum will love) and a a few other things but the major thing is, it is also is a mp3 player. They will love it. At least I hope so.

I am going to start the girl's tutus for their costumes this weekend. Livi will be a witch and Tatum will be a little pumpkin. I am excited for them to wear their costumes and hopefully be proud of something I made for them. Javi wants to be a police officer, and Carson wanted to be a shark but now has changed his mind about a million times. I think we might reuse a costume Javi wore 2 years ago. But we will see. Boys room is looking really good, and so is the girl's. I will take pictures of the rooms once I am done with Z's nursery. I will NEVER officially be done with anything because I change my mind constantly.

Getting late and I need to be up early for the appt. Wish me luck! :) The picture above is from the Redskins Vs Cardinals game that we took my brother to. Of coarse the Cardinals won!!

It's been a little bit

It has been a little bit since I last posted. I figured I should get on her and say something since it has been a little bit. Lets see where to start. Had the 3d ultra sound done and it took a bit of poking and prodding but we eventually got to see what Z looks like. My family all went... not a experience I would like to repeat with 4 kids but worth it. Here are a few of the pictures we were able to get

Can't believe only 10 weeks left. I still have not done much with Z nursery since the last post. Wash and put away all of his clothes but other then that nothing! UGH... I know what I want to do but I have so many projects going on right now. I am hoping that I will finish most of them in the next month or so along with Z's nursery. I still have to send out Thank you's from the baby shower, and I am also trying to get my other kiddo's room updated and looking cute as well. Not they didn't before but we have made some adjustments. Trying to figure out what I need to watch for as far as sales go for Christmas ( I know it is early but with 4 kids and another one on the way you gotta always be on the hunt ) and there are a few other things I am doing too. Other then that nothing to interesting. Went to the dr's on Friday. Everything was fine Z kicked their doppler thing again and it always makes me giggle when he does that. What a little stinker. After seeing his 3d pictures it really gets me to thinking what he will really look like. In the pic he looks like I did when I was a baby but you know how that can change so I am not assuming anything. Just had my gestational diabetes test too on Friday so I should hopefully find out the results sometime today. I forgot to ask what I was measuring, I usually ask when I am there but we were talking about something else. I will have to ask them when they call tomorrow. Now I start to go in every 2 weeks until something changes or I get to 36 weeks, which ever is first. They are wanting to monitor my swelling I have been having. My blood pressure is fine, actually low for my normal. But as I was talking to her about my swelling my hands turned white and got blotchy and started swelling. It is really just hands and feet.... particularly my toes and fingers. I don't know why and it is really bothersome. I feel like I have sausages at the end of my feet.

Found a steal at bed bath and beyond this weekend. They had some roman shades on clearance but they were sold out everywhere in Az so they are shipping the shade to me from IA. I am excited about that. Especially since my girls ruined the blinds that are in there now (they were in their room prior). I am going to attempt to make some roman shades for my girl's room out of the blinds they ruined but I can't seem to find the fabric I would like to use. (another project that I am trying to get done). I wanted to try and get a small quilt done too but haven't even started that. It is hard to get much done with the kids home and hubby at work. DH is working odd hours this week... I hate it when that happens but he is getting an extra 2 days off next week for it so I can suck it up for the mean time. Maybe I can get some more stuff done when he is home during that time. We were able to knock out quite a few things last time he was off for 2 extra days during the week.

We get to go the Card's game on the 2nd (next Thursday) so I am looking forward to that. GO CARDS!!! Carson also starts school this Tuesday (angels singing) that will be nice as well. Just me and the girls in the morning on Tuesday and Thursday. Once I am done with the kid's room I will have to post pictures of them. Now if I would have done a before and after that would have been good but my brain barely is functioning. Well off to bed for me. Very tired and DH is not going to be here in the morning to help me with the kids so I better get lots of rest. Really really really tired all the time now. So that doesn't help. Pre pregnancy I had no problem getting the kids off and ready in the morning but now I can barely keep my eyes open to function. HELP ha ha ha. Enjoy the pics!!

Shower me baby!

Get ready for a long post!!!!

Just a few gifts, started opening some and then more people showed up, so some more are on the other side of the chair with the umbrella my mom and friends set up for me to sit while I opened up the gifts (ha ha), but my friend who was taking the pictures for some reason did not get them. I guess that is what happens when you have a come and go shower. I am missing quite a few pics of other people who came. Guess she was focused on a certain group. But very thankful she took pictures PERIOD! Otherwise I would not have very many at all.

My friend Katie who I have known since high school and is one of my besties AKA photographer with my camera:P

Me and my dear friend and neighbor Ashley. She made awesome fruit kabobs and yummy green Hawaiian salad.

The girl in the middle is Angelene, the shower was at her house and she works with my mom, but is like a 2nd sister to me. The lady next to her is her mom who made amazing chocolate sheet cake, rice to go with the Hawaiian meatballs and yummy slushies.

Javi's 1st Day of 2nd grade with his teacher

Where to start hmmm...... well I had my baby shower this last Saturday and it was very successful. Now I just need to wash clothes and finish up last minute things like getting bottles, burp clothes, a CRIB mattress ha ha ha I will need one of those, and a few other needed things. The girls were able to go to the shower. They were excited but really didn't quite understand what a baby shower was. My DH got the girls up early that Sat to help get them ready and they wanted to come into my room wake me up and hop in the actual shower with me. They didn't get it until we got to the actual baby shower event. Part of me thinks they thought they were going to take a shower with a whole bunch of girls. HA HA!! Sometimes I wonder what goes through their little heads. But now they ask if they can go to the baby shower again because they got to open baby Z's present for him.
I haven't made it to the store to spend some of the gift cards and money we received because DH had to work on Sunday and Saturday after the baby shower we spent with the family that had came into town to visit. Needless to say by Saturday night I was very tired and very very swollen. I think my family and I shopped for about 8 hours on Friday. My legs hurt so bad and were swollen for 2 days after that. Thank goodness the swelling has gone down. I haven't done much with the nursery either. It is in the same state it was when I last posted. We wanted to put up crown moulding and that has turned into a bigger project then expected. YUCK. We are thinking of not doing it now. But we will see. Still gonna change out baseboards (hopefully that won't take too long). Then I just need to get the darn mattress and decorations for the room and hopefully it will be done. I am having each one of my kids paint Z a picture. Then I am going to frame it. My neighbor and I are suppose to make 2 small quilts for baby Z and she also wants to help me do some cute burp clothes but we will see how much time I have.

I got the swing I really really wanted and I set it up in my living room. Setting things up around my house has it finally starting to kick in that I am going to have a baby. The swing plays "twinkle twinkle little star" which my girls love it sing to Z. It was so cute when I showed them that it played that song they started to sing with the music and it was so beautiful.
This whole pregnancy thing has just flabbergasted me. We have waited so long for this to happen (7 yrs) that it is still hard for me to accept that it is truly happening for us.
I am going to a 3d ultrasound on Saturday, (b-day gift to myself) and they will put music on the video for me if I want. So while I was looking for music I found this Celine Dion song "A New Day Has Come" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Ev4J2Y_zw&feature=related

(Check it out)

What a great song. Totally sums up how I feel. This is truly such a miracle for us and we are so grateful. I don't think I can make it through the first sentence of the song and not want to cry. Pregnancy hormones? I don't know. But it really hits home. So I think I have found at least one song I would like to put on the video. Plus Celine Dion wrote this song for her son after struggling with infertility. Hits the nail right on the head don't ya think.

My birthday is this Sunday. My brother and his fiancee' offered to take me for a pedi and offered to watch the kids so me and DH could have a night out on the town. I just don't know if we will be able to do it because they wanted to do it on Saturday and I am getting the 3d ultrasound done on that day. But we will see. DH tried to take the day off on Sunday but I told him to save the day for a day we have something planned. Like towards the end of this pregnancy when I will be barely able to walk or chase after my 4 kiddos.

Javi started school this Monday. Yay for him. He was totally excited he could barely get to sleep Sunday night. CUTE!! I did the same thing when I was little. Well until I hit High school that is. Javi has a lot of his friends in his class. The 2 boys that Javi really competed with last year are in his class this year too. I am excited for that because it keeps Javi striving to do his best and it is healthy competition not overly done. I think that competition is what got Javi to get 3rd in AR reading from k-3rd at his school and one of the top kids in his class for math facts. Yep that is my boy!!! All his grades combined together was a 98% so he was able to be on principles honor roll. I was/am so proud. Who cares if he was only in 1st grade. The kid is freak'n smart. Carson is so excited to start preschool and I don't think it can come fast enough for me either. Ha ha ha. Carson goes Tues and Thurs for only 2 and a half hours but it gets him out there and he is making other friends. So for those 2 days a week it will be girl time for me and my girls. Well until baby Z comes then it won't just be the girls. The girls were helping me go through some of Z's clothes yesterday and Livi ( my oldest daughter) kept saying "Oh I think this will be cute on Zander" or "Oh mom I like this". She is so excited about her new brother even if she can't stand the 2 she already has at times. But she does love them. I will post up the 3d shots I get on Saturday. I am hoping that they will be good. Enjoy the pics!
